This is a people-powered campaign - funded by neighbours, not corporations. Every contribution from an eligible Ontario resident helps put literature on doorsteps and organizers in the community.
- Individuals who are residents of Ontario only - no corporations, unions, or groups.
- Maximum $1,200 per person to this campaign (and $5,000 total across all Milton council candidates).
- Not a charitable gift - municipal contributions are not tax-deductible and the receipt is not a tax receipt.
How contributions work in Milton
Contributions are regulated under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and administered by the Town of Milton. The maximum any individual may contribute to this campaign is $1,200. A person may contribute a maximum of $5,000 in total to all candidates running for the same council.
Only individuals who are residents of Ontario may contribute. Corporations, trade unions, associations, governments, and political parties cannot contribute.
This is a political contribution to a municipal candidate. It is not a charitable or tax-deductible donation, and the receipt issued is not a tax receipt.
Contributors who give more than $100 in total will have their name and address publicly disclosed in the candidate's financial statement, as required by law. We collect your information solely to meet these election-compliance and receipting obligations.
