The NDP has announced two candidates seeking the nomination to run for the party in the Milton riding in the next federal election.
Alex Anabusi and Jan Mowbray will seek the nomination during a meeting at Hugh Foster Hall on Tuesday Apr. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. The annual general meeting will follow.
Anabusi is a healthcare professional and community advocate. He ran for Milton local and regional councilor in 2013 and for local councilor in 2014. He said he chose to run for the federal nomination “to bring positive change to all lives of all Canadians and their families; to hold government accountable to its actions which affect Canadians and their families.”
Mowbray served on local council for seven years. She owns and operates a small business and has been a community volunteer for 35 years. She said she believes the NDP party is the only part that can return equity to our society.
The federal election is slated for October 2015.
