Some Halton District School Board sites will be hosting open houses over the next two weeks to allow Grade 12 students to choose their wardrobe for an important rite of passage.
Over the past several weeks, high school social workers at the board started a new initiative, Fashion Forward, to help students look their best for the Grade 12 prom.
New or slightly used articles of prom wear for all students were donated and are being made available to students for free.
Many different styles, colours, and sizes of formal dresses have been collected as well as suits, shirts, ties and shoes.
The open houses will be held from 3-6:30 p.m. at the following locations:
• Tuesday, April 7 at Garth Webb Secondary School, 2820 Westoak Trails Blvd, Oakville
• Thursday, April 9 at Acton High School, 21 Cedar Rd., Acton
• Tuesday, April 14 at Robert Bateman High School, 5151 New St., Burlington
• Thursday April 16 at Craig Kielburger S.S., 1151 Ferguson Dr., Milton
Participating students are asked to bring their student identification card to an open house.
