The Halton District School Board is endorsing a prom-inent event.
High school social workers within the public board are heading up a new initiative to help students look their best for their graduation.
Fashion Forward is intended to provide new or gently-used prom wear for all Grade 12 students. All current students will be invited to open houses in April to choose clothing for their prom.
Dates for the open houses will be announced soon.
All donations of prom dresses, formal gowns, fancy party dresses (long or short), boy’s and men’s formal suits, dress shirts and ties will be accepted.
Donated clothing should be in current styles, clean and on hangers.
Community members, current students and former graduates are welcome to drop off new or gently-used prom wear before Friday, March 27 at the following schools:
• Burlington:
— Robert Bateman H.S., 5151 New St.
— M.M. Robinson H.S., 2425 Upper Middle Rd.
• Oakville:
— Garth Webb Secondary School, 2820 Westoak Trails Blvd.
— Oakville Trafalgar High School, 1460 Devon Rd.
• North Halton:
— Craig Kielburger S.S., 1151 Ferguson Dr.
— Milton District H.S., 396 Williams Ave.
— Acton H.S., 21 Cedar Rd.
— Georgetown District H.S., 70 Guelph St.
