Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton as a major winter storm heads into Southern Ontario.
Snow amounts of 5 to 15 cm are forecast for Sunday and Sunday night.
According to Environment Canada, a developing winter storm over Colorado will track towards Southern Ontario tonight and Sunday. Snow will begin Sunday morning for regions near Lake Huron and Sunday afternoon or evening for regions near Lake Ontario. The snow will end Monday morning.
Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected for regions from Sarnia to London and Brantford. From Goderich to Kitchener to Toronto snowfall amounts will be closer to 5 cm.
However, winds will increase Sunday evening, reducing visibility. The combination of snow and blowing snow will make for difficult travelling conditions.
