With velodrome delays officially announced late last week, the Town of Milton has postponed the opening day for the cycling facility.
Originally set for November 1, the event — to introduce the community to the Mattamy National Cycling Centre — will now be held on November 29.
“The velodrome is a very unique project and it’s important to take the time to get it right,” said Mayor Gord Krantz. “Having to push our programs back by a few weeks isn’t ideal, but it’s certainly not going to dampen the community’s enthusiasm about this one-of-a-kind facility. When the doors open, I have no doubt that it will be worth the wait.”
All the planned program sessions for the fall and winter season will still be running, with a slightly later start and finish time than originally expected.
