A fundraising fun fair with bouncy castles, ponies, popcorn and cotton candy will take place on Sunday, July 13, at the Milton Fair Grounds.
Organizers of the event, named the Forget-Me-Not Family Fun Fair, say the community of Milton will come together to honour the life of two-year-old Maximus Huyskens — who died tragically last year — as well as to help support his family and raise awareness of car safety.
With the support of Mattamy Homes, Minmaxx Realty, Koskie Minsky LLP and countless vendors and families in town and beyond, the one-day event will also feature live and local entertainment, the Toopy and Binoo puppet show and a plethora of items to raffle. It will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A free stuffed animal will be given to the first 250 children through the gates, and a drive-through car seat clinic will be held to help keep children safe.
All proceeds will support Kids and Cars Canada, which is run by fun fair organizer Rose Passarelli.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event.
Organizers hope the event will raise awareness here and beyond.
Admission cost $2 per adult. Children are admitted free.
