A new report has revealed a number of positive economic statistics for Milton Keynes during the first quarter of the year, including record company formation.
The latest Duport Business Confidence Report for Milton Keynes from Duport.co.uk shows some encouraging signs for the Milton Keynes economy over the first three months of 2014.
The report shows there were an impressive 757 new companies registered - more than any other quarter on record and 16 per cent rise on the previous year.
In addition, there was a 2 per cent drop in company closures, leading to an overall rise in net company growth (the number of company formations minus the number of closures).
There was also a slight rise in the UK company share of Milton Keynes over the three months.
And to top it all off, female director numbers spiked during the first quarter. Between January and March, 27 per cent of all company directors were women, compared to just 18 per cent during the same period in 2013.
