On Saturday, March 29, 2014, Milton Hydro will encourage Milton residents and businesses to power down during Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Earth Hour is an annual global lights-out initiative created by the World Wildlife Fund to demand action on climate change.
What the Town is doing!
The Town of Milton is proud to participate in Earth Hour with the following changes to Town facilities:
Lights out: Town Hall, Hugh Foster Hall, Nassagaweya Tennis Centre & Community Hall, Boyne Community Centre and Nassagaweya Community Centre
Operating at a reduced load: Milton Centre for the Arts, Leisure Centre and Sports Centre.
In addition, the Town of Milton has just completed two projects replacing conventional arena lighting systems (Memorial and Rink A at the Sports Centre) to LED technology, cutting consumption in half!
What you can do!
Join the movement! For one hour:
Turn off the lights
Turn down the thermostat
Unplug the TV, blue ray player, microwave, clock radio... and enjoy the quiet.
