On Family Day, Monday, February 17, the Town of Milton is offering a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities at Town facilities as well as the opportunity to support local Olympian, Travis Gerrits.
The Milton Sports Centre will be offering a variety of free family activities for all ages, including sponsored skating, Zumba and aquafit. Families are also invited to cheer on Milton’s own Travis Gerrits as he competes for gold in freestyle aerial skiing. All the action from Sochi will be shown on three big screens in the lobby, gymnasium and Banquet Room, starting at 8:54 am. In addition, Olympic-themed activities will be available in the gymnasium from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The Milton Leisure Centre will feature free recreational activities to keep the whole family moving, including basketball, dodgeball, Sports Bonanza and floor hockey. Younger family members can enjoy Play with Me and Art on the Move. Swimming and group fitness will also be available at regular admission fees.
Families can also enjoy free family table tennis and bingo at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre, as well as Shinny and Stick ‘N Puck at the John Tonelli Sports Centre for the regular admission fee.
