A three-year mandate for Ms. Melissa L. Coulson
OTTAWA, Feb. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today announced the appointment of Ms. Melissa L. Coulson to the board of directors of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) for a term of three years.
Ms. Coulson is a chartered professional accountant (CPA) and a licensed public accountant (LPA), with more than 15 years experience in public accounting and financial management functions. A graduate of Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, she is also the owner of her own accounting business in Milton, Ontario. Ms. Coulson started practicing accounting in 1998 with Ernst & Young LLP in Toronto. As an audit manager with the company, she gained significant experience in risk-based audit approaches.
She was involved for more than seven years in the Milton Chamber of Commerce, where she served as its President in 2011 and 2012 and its Treasurer from 2006-2011. Ms. Coulson has also had a long-time affiliation with the United Way of Milton.

CATSA, established on April 1, 2002, is a federal Crown corporation responsible for the screening of passengers and their belongings, as well as screening of non-passengers entering airport restricted areas, and any items in their possession. CATSA and Transport Canada work together in aviation security to contribute to a safe and secure air transportation system. CATSA screened 51 million passengers in 2012.
