The Town of Milton has received another financial boost for its Pan American Games Torch Relay celebrations next month.
They officially came this morning at the Milton Sports Centre, where Halton MP and Minister of Transport Lisa Raitt announced a $15,000 grant from the Government of Canada.
This follows the provincial government’s contribution of $7,500, which was announced last week at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, which was officially turned over to the Pan Am Games organizing committee today.
Also on hand for this morning’s announcement was Mayor Gord Krantz, as well as local torchbearers Travis Gerrits (Olympic aerial skier), Derek McGowan (music teacher), Donna Coulter (community volunteer) and Steve Bauer (former Olympic cyclist/head coach of Milton Cycling Academy).
