Halton District School Board (HDSB) students are celebrating International Dance Day Wednesday (April 22).
More than 250 are expected to take part in the 10th year of the festivities in Halton at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre.
The day runs from 8:15 a.m.-2 p.m. and includes workshops led by local dance artists in the morning. The afternoon will see Halton teachers lead a creative workshop for the students.
The celebration ends with a presentation of a dance piece encompassing the hundreds of students participating.
This year’s theme is Earth, Fire, Wind and Water and addresses current environmental issues through dance. For more information on International Dance Day, visit www.international-dance-day.org.
