A citizen’s call led to the arrest of a Milton man in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles Tuesday morning.

Police report receiving a call at 3:45 a.m. about a male allegedly entering a vehicle on Livock Trail and then fleeing the area on foot.

Officers were dispatched and a man was located and arrested in the backyard of a home on Cousens Terrace after a brief K9 unit track.

Several pieces of discarded stolen property were recovered in the yard.

The suspect — according to the initial investigation — allegedly entered several unlocked vehicles in the area.

Justin Hiltz Banks, 18, of Milton has been charged with four counts each of theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property, as well as trespass at night and three counts of breach of probation.

He’s set to appear in Milton Court today for a bail hearing.

Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles.
