Mascot Mayhem is due to return to Central Milton Keynes when the Theatre District Family Fun Day and the rather chaotic 2014 Mascot Olympics takes place on Saturday.
The award winning event attracts football, rugby and other sports club mascots, as well as those representing businesses and community groups, from all over the country.
The organisers are still looking for children to join the mascots in their parade and warm up.
If you are interested in being involved in this then please register in the Theatre District at 10.15am on the morning of the event.
Every child who takes part will receive goodies and be entered in a draw for a fun local activity.
Live music and entertainment opens the day at 10.15am with plenty of local talent on display and 28 mascots will make their first appearance just before 11am.
So far organisers say they have a cookie monster, bird, mouse, panther, two bears, giraffe, tiger, penguin, ape, rabbit, monkey, polar bear, crocodile, hornet, lion, dog, three cows and a variety of strange characters.
Events include a giant sack race, bungee run, speed ball challenge, snowboard simulator (definitely worth watching the 12ft giraffe on this one), welly wanging and the ever popular obstacle course.
For the second year the organisers have arranged free all weather undercover grandstand seating, apparently to protect spectators from the fierce MK sun!
At lunch time Paramount Parkour are offering free ‘have a go’ sessions for free running and On Point are doing the same with dance.
The parkour display team will then be out in force around 3.15pm, just before the final mascot prize presentation at 3.30pm. The whole day will be closed by Lydia ... an up and coming BGT talent for the future!
There will be live entertainment, fun fair rides, face painting and plenty of stalls to visit, including many supporting this year’s local charity with a huge National remit – Emily’s Star.
Two years since the charity was set up by local mum Katie after losing her baby girl Emily at only 26 days old, the now registered charity works nationally to raise awareness and support others who are touched by Trisomy 18.
They also provide Emily’s gift neo-natal boxes that have much needed items for premature & underweight babies and their Mums, as well as help and support the children with complex needs nurses who care for all babies and children within Milton Keynes who suffer with life limiting or life threatening illnesses.
