Halton regional police say the woman, who is in her 50s, was walking her dog in the Milton park on Wednesday when a man approached and bent down to pet the dog.

It's alleged that as the man stood up, he exposed himself and performed an indecent act on himself.

Police say the woman struck the man with her cane several times, and he fled in a grey, mid-sized car.

The man is described as about 20 years old, of Spanish or middle Eastern descent, about 5-foot-8, with a slender build, short black hair cut straight across his forehead and a diamond stud earring in his left ear.

He was wearing a grey sweater or jacket and large pyjama or "balloon" pants that were either red/orange or pink in colour.

Police are trying to identify the suspect and say anyone with information should call Halton police or Crime Stoppers.
