MILTON, Ont. - A 17-year-old boy was killed early Sunday in Milton after the car he was travelling in overturned and hit a utility pole, Halton police said.

The 18-year-old male driver and two other passengers — females whose ages were not revealed — were sent to hospital with serious injuries, police said in a news release Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m., on Fifth Line, south of Britannia Rd.

Police said the car, a Pontiac Grand Prix, was travelling southbound before the driver lost control.

It eventually coming to rest in a nearby field on the west side of Fifth Line. The 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Halton EMS said those injured were transported to St. Michael's Hospital and Hamilton General Hospital.

The three remain in hospital as of Sunday afternoon, and are in "serious but stable condition," police said.

Police said officers have cordoned off the accident scene as their investigation continues.

"Also, the names of the involved parties will not be released at the present time," police added.
